• The Studio Recital was a big success with a great turnout! Thank you to Lakewood United Methodist Church for the use of their beautiful facilities. • Don't forget about the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra auditions on June 3. All students who will be in either middle or high school this fall are eligible to audition. For more information, please contact Barbara Burroughs at (501) 666-1761, ext. 116. More information can be found in this Youth Orchestra flier.
• It's not too early to begin preparations for next school year's All-Region and All-State auditions. This year's Senior High list includes numbers 20, 51, 54, and 85 from the Preparatory Melodies book, as well as numbers 79, 96, and 111 from the Second Book of Practical Studies. The Junior High list includes numbers 14, 36, 54, 58, and 65 all from the First Book of Practical Studies. Please let me know if you need any of this music. Check the ASBOA website to find the tempi that the judges will expect for each of these pieces. Check back here soon for a recording of these audition pieces.
